The NJCBS also recognizes that a gentle transition from
home to school will help the child to interact with people outside the
family and learn to socialize himself within the group. Play occupies
a central part in all areas of growth and development of the whole child.
Through play, the child's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language
development will be engaged, exercised and supported. Children are presented
with a non-threatening environment where they are encouraged to take risks
as they interact in a multitude of settings and situations. The program
is designed to be flexible, with a balance between active and quiet activities
along with indoor and outdoor play. |
