Mr. LI Jingguang, the schoolmaster of NJCBS, was also the
former headmaster of the Nanjing Langya Road Primary School. Mr. Li began
to take charge of the teaching affairs of Langya Road School since 1981,
during which he organized and presided the research program named Little
Masters, and then cooperated with his collogues in writing a book on Theory
and Practice in Educating Little Masters. His implementation of Happy
Education in primary schools brought him with a reputation as an initiator
who applies the ideology of quality education in primary schools in China.
Due to his outstanding contribution, he was honored as one of the “City
Advanced Workers in Nanjing”, and the “National Top Excellent Educational
Workers”. In 1991, he became the headmaster of the primary school section
of NJCBS.
It is generally acknowledged? that almost all parents who decided to send
their children to boarding schools have some certain difficulties in educating
their children. Especially after our country’s implementation of reforming
and opening up policy, some parents are always engaged in their business
having no time to tend to their children’s life and study. ?Some parents
want to cultivate the good habits of their children , a sense of self-reliance,
or independence in their early ages; still some other worry about the
quality of education in local schools and want their children receive
a high-quality education. In view of these facts, our school tries to
“think what the parents think, and serve what they need”, sparing no efforts
in fulfilling and satisfying their hopes and needs.
We hold the belief that each child has his or her own unique potentials
which might be impeded from comprehensive developments for certain objective
factors. As educators,we take on the duty and responsibility to offer
these children an excellent, healthy educational environment. Firstly,
our educational ideology is, orienting our work to the needs of the students,
being responsible for every student; sparing no efforts in helping them
to move one step higher than another.
Secondly, the NJCBS holds the ideology of humanistic approach, trying
to arrive at a perfect harmony between “regulations and liberty”, “development
and innovation”. In considering the issues of security and efficiency,
our school has laid down strict rules and requirements. However, laying
out regulations is not our end, and will not be the confining lasso of
sudents’ mind and developments, so our purpose is to use scientific and
rational regulations to free the students’ mind, stimulate their initiatives.
Thirdly, in the process of education, we implement an all-round education
tailor-made to students of varied levels, cultivating top students as
well as helping average ones, in order to endow every student with a sense
of achievements..? ???
Last but not at all the least, the boarding system is one of the unique
advantages in our bilingual school; the boarding students can live with
their teachers all day long, which enables the teachers to focus on students’
life and study. In order to strengthen the effectiveness of classroom
teaching,we have morning reading and evening self-study programs with
timely guidance from tutors of Chinese, Mathematics, and foreign languages.
Also there are special class advisers and tutelary guadians who are responsible
for the students’ living affairs, caring the students’ spiritual and psychological
life. The most important thing is that, our school has successfully introduced
the excellent foreign teaching materials combined with the essence of
traditional Chinese culture, thus we have built up an interactive model
of education with our western counterparts, thus allowing students to
appreciate the cultural excellence of our people and advancedness of other
peoples around the world . Also So by putting their children right here,
